Meet the heart of Sips and Cycles
My name is Yannick, founder of Sips and Cycles, the brand that brings together a love for motorcycles trough the eyes of artists. In my daily life I study and work as a social worker. But outside of all that, I wanted to get closer to the motorcycle world, a world that feels like home to me.
I grew up in a family where motorcycles were always around. My parents and brother all ride, and from a young age, I developed a deep appreciation for the freedom, speed, and sound that come with it. I’ve always loved working creatively with my hands, and Sips and Cycles is the exact place where I can put that passion into something real.
Why I started Sips and Cycles
As I mentioned, I wanted to get closer to the motorcycle world, I just wasn’t sure
how yet. Back then I often watched videos of the Bike Shed Motorcycle Club in London, where riders would show off their unique bikes and stop for a drink on the terrace. For me, it would be a huge dream to bring something like that to the Netherlands. A motorcycle cafe where people are always welcome, whether they’re out for a group ride or just stopping by for a break.
Where the name Sips and Cycles comes from
By now, you might already have an idea where the name comes from. Of course, Sips stands for the drinks, and Cycles for motorcycles (and no not the bicycles, if that was your first thought haha). But you might still wonder how I went from dreaming of a motorcycle cafe to starting a clothing brand.
Opening a cafe right away felt a little out of reach at the time. So instead, I started by creating something together with talented artists, and that turned out to be a great first step. Working together has been even better than I could have ever imagined, and I’m excited to see what they’ll come up with in the future. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll be able to combine it al.
Who it’s for
At Sips and Cycles, it's all about motorcycles and the creative minds they inspire. It’s for everyone who feels at home around bikes, and for anyone who wants to support talented artists and look good doing it. Each T-shirt tells a story, carried by the person who wears it. We’re a brand committed to offering high-quality, ethically made shirts, because we believe that taking care of what we wear helps us enjoy the world of gasoline-powered motorcycles for as long as we can.
